Hello. I’m Roseanne. I am an Occupational Therapist, accredited Lymphoedema practitioner and owner of Encompass Therapy. My passion is supporting people to function better and live well regardless of injury, illness or ageing. Encompass Therapy is located in Broadmeadow, Newcastle.

As an Occupational Therapist with over 25 years clinical experience, my approach to treatment encompasses a unique set of skills to your treatment plan:

  • My background as an Occupational Therapist encourages me to look at all aspects of your functioning, including physical, psychosocial and emotional and consider how your symptoms are impacting on your life roles.

  • 25+ years of clinical experience working in a variety of settings.

  • Post-graduate qualifications in hands-on soft tissue injury.

  • Masters research project investigating impacts of posture and whole body vibration.

  • Nationally registered Occupational Therapist

  • Nationally accredited Lymphoedema Practitioner

  • RESTORE Scar Therapy Practitioner

  • Training in Dynamic Neuromuscular Stabilisation (DNS), a therapy approach that teaches the body how to move by retraining the central nervous system using inherent functional motor patterns for efficient movement.

I have a special interest in working with people living with cancer and its after-effects. Cancer treatment often has lasting impacts on the body’s function and on participation in valued tasks and life roles long after the cancer treatment has finished. Pain, scarring, movement limitation and weakness, swelling, fatigue and “chemobrain” type symptoms such as concentration, memory and problem solving issues are all challenges that can be experienced during and after cancer treatment. I will work with you to prioritise your goals for treatment to enable you to function better and live well.
